寒い冬の季節、日本の景色は殺風景です。
そのような時期に梅の花が咲くと、思わず花を探すミツハチのように近づいてしまいます。

近づいて、花と共に、その枝のデザインに注目します。
古い幹の部分のカーブは複雑な形です。
急に折れ曲がったり、下に向かったりします。
先の方の、若い枝は「反り」と呼ばれる緩やかなカーブで多くが上に向かいます。
古い枝から伸びる若い枝のデザインに、生命の躍動を感じます。
古くから、日本の有名な画家は、そのデザインを一枚の絵の中に表現しました。
一方、観客はその構図に、自身の心の中を重ね、鑑賞します。

私は、古の日本の職人がこの「反り」と呼ばれる緩やかなカーブを、色々な作品に写したのではないかと考えます。

自転車のデザインは、その機能で、かなり制約を受けます。
しかし５ＬＩＮＫＳのフレームデザインには、自然界にある「反り」の形を取り入れました。
古の職人を見習い、今後は、その完成度をますます上げていきたいと思います。

In winter, a cold season, Japanese scenery is out of taste.
When I see plum blossoms blooming in such a season, I cannot help getting closer just like a bee looking for flowers.
Coming near the plum tree, I pay attention to branches as well as blossoms.
The old branches are thick and turn complicatedly.
They bend abruptly, or sometimes they go downward.
Young twigs mostly go upward with a gentle curve called “Sori-curve”.
I feel a pulse of life in the shape of young twigs extending from old branches.
From old days, many Japanese famous painters have expressed the shape in one piece of paintings.
And people watch it comparing feelings of their own with its composition.
I assume that the old Japanese craftsmen imitated the shape of gentle curves called “Sori-curve” to their various works.
Bicycles are considerably restricted in design due to the functions.
Nevertheless I adopted the shape of “Sori-curve” which exists in natural world for our 5LINKS frame design.
Learning from the old craftsmen, I am determined to bring the design much closer to perfection.

寒冬的季節，日本的風景看起來也是冷冷清清。在這時期看到綻放的梅花，我就像一隻尋找花的蜜蜂不由自主的接近。
走近花專注的看了枝頭的設計。老枝部分的曲線是複雜的形狀。突然彎曲或朝向底部。
在往前方ㄧ點，很多幼枝在被稱為「Sori-curve」的曲線中往上伸展。
從老枝延展出來的幼枝讓人感受的到生命的悸動。
從古到今，日本著名的畫家就已經把這樣的設計表現在畫裡。
而觀眾們ㄧ邊鑑賞一邊也把這樣的情境跟自己的境遇重疊。
我認為以前日本的職人就已把所所謂的「Sori-curve」反應在各種作品中。
自行車的設計上因為功能的關係，有很多的限制。
但5LINKS的車架設計引進了自然界裏的「Sori-curve」。見習以前職人的精神，希望能日益提高完成度。
